CHRIST APOSTOLIC CHURCH FELELE ZONE, 1ST ZONAL CHILDREN'S DAY

According to
the book of Psalms 127:3 it says
Children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward
and in a celebrating the children this year, the Christ Apostolic Church Felele
Zone celebrated its 1st Zonal Children’s day on Sunday May 24th
2020 at the Oke- segun, Zonal Headquarters in Felele lokoja, Kogi state.
Speaking to
Oshobey The Speaker on why the theme of the church children’s day was THE
EXEMPLARY CHILD, Pastor Obadofin Odadiah who is the zonal children Minister
said that looking at the world and the rate of moral decay in our society and
to harness the youthful life for a purposeful life for our children, it is good
that we teach our children to emulate the ways of our lord Jesus Christ. Pastor
Obadofin said the essence of the day was to educate the children and Impact
their lives with God’s word to make them grow in the ways of the lord and
achieve their dreams. He said the children have been in training for the
program since January. The children thrilled the congregation in chorography,
drama and song ministration.
Mrs Olubiyo
Fumilayo Seyi the children coordinator Christ Apostolic Church, Oke –Segun
felele advise the children to look beyond the challenges they are facing as
children and even the ones the are facing from their parents and hold on to the
pillar of Christ the savior. She called on Parents to always be closer to their
children because it is better to teach them what they don’t know, than for
their children to go out and learn the wrong things from bad friends and
strange people out there.
Uncle David
Onotu Jacob, well known children teacher in Christ Apostolic Church, Oke- Segun
was on ground to do justice to the theme of the church children’s day. He took
his anchor scripture from the book of Luke 2:40-45 and 2Tim 3:10-15. He said
children should always see Jesus Christ as their example in life. Uncle Jacob said
every child should emulate Jesus Christ for him or her to be true sons and
daughters of God Almighty. Samuel, ( 1Sam 2:11, 18-21, 26. The Maid in Naaman’s
house (2 Kings 5:1-19) and John the Baptist were his example of THE EXEMPLARY
CHILD, the theme of the Church children’s day. He also enjoin
Parents to pray to the Lord to fill their
children with the Holy Spirit even in their childhood.
Abayomi
Comfort Olayide a children teacher and usher thank the church and the committee
in charge of the children’s day for making the day glorious for the children of
Christ Apostolic Church Oke-Segun, felele Lokoja. Abayomi said the coronavirus
no doubt has made the children’s day celebration 2020 to be oddly celebrated
but the church has made it look symbolic and unique for the children. She said
that children should not exhibit ungodly behavior but should grow up with the
wisdom and knowledge of the word of God, and above all to be obedient to their parents in other to be better adults
in future.
The occasion
was the first Zonal children’s day celebration in the church and was well
attended by members from other districts.
